Disability and Progress-February 15, 2024-Aid-In-Dying Legislation in Minnesota
This week, aid-in-dying legislation in Minnesota Dr. Rebecca Thoman leads the campaign to pass the Minnesota End-of-Life Options Act on behalf of the Compassion & Choices, the country’s largest nonprofit dedicated to improving care and expanding options at the end of life. She trained in Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota and has worked in public health policy for more than 2 decades. Matthew Sanford is the author of Waking: A Memoir of Trauma and Transcendence. The 2006 memoir recounts Matthew’s journey to healing and mind-body connection following a car accident that left him paralyzed at the age of 13. Mr. Sanford founded Mind Body Solutions (mindbodysolutions.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming trauma, loss and disability into hope and potential by awakening the connection between mind and body.
