Lets be honest. SXSW is one of the biggest events in the nation! Our Journalist Ethan “Mr. Music” Horace and Producer Anthony “Mr. Visa 360” Tunstall were there on behalf of the station covering press. The event went on from March 9th to March 17th 2019. The different festivals withing the event include : Interactive , Film , Music , Gaming, and Comedy. Now that’s what we call variety!
Many social media powerhouses were there. Including Snapchat who gave a live presentation on their new features and upgrades to the platform. That event was held at the Snapchat House and included open bar and free food for attendees. Mr. Music and Mr. Visa 360 interviewed 2 of the representatives after their presentation. Other great events were hosted by top media and technology companies such as Dell, NBC Universal , Showtime , Twitter and others. At the NBC Universal hosted event Mr. Visa 360 had a great conversation and interview with race-car legend Mario Andretti after a special discussion about his new documentary.
The music festival of SXSW included Hip-Hop/Rap acts Young Jeezy , The Lox , Lil Baby , Yella Beezy just to name a few. Legendary Hip-Hop GROUP De La Soul rocked the crowd on the Stub Hub Sound Stage. We were able to catch up with them to ask something they totally might not of expected to be asked.
With so many great events though out the festivals you want to make sure to come to all the festivals within it! The networking, learning, conversation and experience is fun and could make you think “What a time to be alive!”
