SLIM as many call me in the blues world is the nickname bestowed upon me from the legendary John Lee Hooker way back when I was just 21 years old, the very first time I met him. previously I had always been know on the air as Mark Stevens [my radio moniker] and began using the nickname around 1988 when I started my first Blues radio show in Barstow California. I had been a blues fan since the tender age of 13 when I went to see Johnny Winter playing with some one named Muddy Waters (little did I know back then), that night changed the trajectory of my life, and I have spent the better part of the ensuing years as a massive Blues fan, supporter, promoter and more.  As a dedicated volunteer with KFAI for more than twenty years, I’m very pleased to present: The BIG BLUE TRAIN!  A weekly 2 hour program filled with Blues, Retro-Soul, and Roots Rock & Roll airing Saturday mornings from  4:00 – 6:00am. I hope you like what you hear and that you come back each and every week for an adventurous journey of great Roots Music. https://www.facebook.com/bigbluetrain/
