February 2017 Echo Chamber Archives

Tonight the Echo Chamber proudly presented our annual “Tribute to Tuff Gong & Tubby” special. Four hours of great roots and dub from the masters Bob Marley and King Tubby, and many friends… From dubs to remixes, and cover versions and tribute songs, we had quite a mix of great music. Also celebrating the Feb. birthday of the great Derrick Harriott. So, in addition to songs from Bob Marley & the Wailers, and dubs from King Tubby, we featured: The Lone Ranger, Black Uhuru, Aux1 Dubsystem, Céu, Peter Tosh, Judy Mowatt, Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, Morgan Heritage (feat. Jo Mersa Marley), Nico Luminous (remix), Alborosie, Alpha Blondy, Father Funk/Rita Marley (remix), Bombay Dub Orchestra {remix), Monty Alexander, Third World, Rebel Tumbao, Johnny Cash & Joe Strummer, and a few more….

Another gigantic week of new releases in the Chamber! Kicked off the Dub party with Thievery Corporation’s fantastic “The Temple of I & I”, followed by some classic Pablo Moses from the new collection “The Revolutionary Years 1975 1983”, and then J Boog’s new “Transition” album with the track “Raggamuffin” featuring Gramps Morgan and Buju Banton! More great new releases in the mix including: Meta & the Cornerstones’ “HIRA” album; Eljai’s single “Together Forever (Jah Mix)”; Jemere Morgan’s “Transition” album; Skip Marley’s single “Lions”; Ras Midas’ re-released “Rastaman in Exile”; deDUBros’ single “Mr. Caraibo” plus the dub “Mr. Caraidub”; The Subvivors’ “Direct to Rec.” EP; HabooDubz’ “Fried Rize vol.3” album; and the Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society’s self-titled release. Wow! That’s a ton of new tunes… But that was just the start. More dubwise fun from Augustus Pablo, Winston Edwards, Raging Fyah, Alborosie/Black Uhuru, The Breadwinners, Sister Nancy/Seed Organization, Easy Star All Stars, Lisa Shaw, Jah Malla, 60 Channels, and still more…
