Drum and Bugle Corps is a community-based activity that brings people together from all walks of life around the world. What began as military-inpsired musical performances with a presentation of "colors" has grown into the highly competitive Summer Music Games, attracting thousands of fans and participants in percussion, brass, and guard (flags, rifles, sabres, etc), as well as luminaries in music composition and arrangement, marching technique, and visual presentation.
In this hour long WAVE project, our focus is in sharing historical importance of drum and bugle corps, including its communities and organizations that share in the triumphs, changes, and challenges of drum and bugle corps' evolution. Because it is only an hour long show, and there are hundreds of performances every year by various organizations, we focused on favorites and significant gamechangers in the activity, attempting to reflect as much of the artistry, incredible technical mastery, and mesmerizing sound of the performances as possible. Please enjoy the show and consider donating to KFAI for their community programming.
