Monday Morning Special KFAI News - Democracy Now Inauguration Broadcast

This Monday, January 21st, KFAI News and Democracy Now! will air very special coverage of the Presidential Inauguration from 10am to 12pm. The “Democracy Now!” team will be on location in Washington, D.C. to take a look at President Obama’s first term in office and what might happen during his second term.

While all other broadcast outlets will likely view the Inauguration through a bi-partisan lens, Amy Goodman and colleagues will bring more voices into the mix and will mark the historic day on which this Inauguration takes place. Listen and examine the civil rights, social and economic justice legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through live and taped interviews, excerpts of speeches, and guests such as Danny Glover, Sweet Honey in the Rock, and Sonia Sanchez. Tune in to KFAI on Monday, January 21st, starting at 10am, for this very special coverage of the Inauguration on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

You can tune in an hour earlier at 9am Monday for a conversation in which hosts Andy Driscoll and Michelle Alimoradi cover the convergence of the Inauguration and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day through a local perspective on Truth to Tell. Guests Brett Buckner (former President of the Minneapolis NAACP and former Executive Director of Color the Vote) and Professor of History/Political Science at Metropolitan State University will add to the conversation, as all listeners are invited to do by phone at 612-341-0980 or on Truth to Tell's Facebook page.
