You may know Caroline Smith as a songwriter who's been around the Twin Cities for a few years, first as a solo artist, then with the Good-Night Sleeps, then as a solo artist again. Did you know the Detroit Lakes native has a new single out with fellow Twin Citian Lizzo which you might want to turn up for every young woman in your life? Smith joins Lizzo and friends for two shows at the end of the month at First Avenue to benefit The Women's Foundation of Minnesota.

After being inspired by the World Cup Soccer tournament, and by the terrible soccer songs over the last 50 years, CFTP's Ron Gerber and True Brit!'s Simon Husbands have teamed up to record a soccer song they hope will match the competition! The song entitled 'The Footy Song ( One For All For England )' – by the band True Crap – will be premiered at the crossover of CFTP and True Brit! this coming Friday night, the 18th, at midnight.

Tiempo Libre, the three-time Grammy nominated Cuban music group, will be featured on KFAI's  Corazon Latino, Tuesday, January 7 – Noon – 2pm.

Jorge Gomez, musical director of Tiempo Libre, will talk with Corazon Latino host Eve MacLeash, bringing listeners up-to-date on the group's upcoming performance at The Dakota on Sunday, January 12th, in celebration of Cuba's musical heritage.

Dennis Spears is a well-known performer on the Minnesota music scene. In the fall, Dennis will be recognized for his achievements when he is inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame. Dennis is famous for his smooth and soulful covers of some of Nat King Cole’s biggest hits. On July 26th and 27th, he’ll sing some of those songs and will be accompanied by The Wolverines at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.
