It is your friendly neighborhood music director here.
I bet you are wondering what records have come in digitally lately…. All 3310 files as of today. Not only are you looking to check these tsunami of new music out for your show (see Mason if you’d like to access the digital library) but I bet you are wondering “How can I help?”
I’m looking for people to help organize the digital library!!!
- There are bands that just have the name of the song and not the band on them
- Whole albums listed as singles
- Extra copies because it got downloaded twice. So right now we have 2 copies of Alfredo Rodriguez – Pedrito Marti_mp3 & WAV files. One pair is in the Jan 4th folder, and then there’s another pair in the Feb 15th folder! Oh no. We just need a copy of the wav and mp3 file in the Jazz folder.
- Records need to go to their ‘forever home’ genre folders. Maybe they need to be in 2 different genre folders…..
- Some albums need to be in different genres
- Most albums need to be put in a genre period
- …. and so much more.
You can see the albums / music we have currently at this google doc. Both a page for new music and a 2nd tab that lets you know bands that are coming to town or looking for interviews. 1 request per person, per week please.
