Flutist Patrick Dillery, formerly of St. Paul and now New York City, is our special guest tonight. Patrick discusses the importance of France in the development of the instrument and he plays works by French composers. Patrick is a dedicated artist who plays and teaches throughout the world.

Journalist and Star Tribune Books editor Laurie Hertzel joins us in the studio to talk about her book News to Me: Adventures of an Accidental Journalist. She will be reading from and talking about it Tuesday, Sept. 7th at the Loft Literary Center and also Monday, Sept. 13th at Magers and Quinn.
In the second half of our show, Francine Marie Tolf joins us to talk about her memoir, Joliet Girl and also her full length poetry collection, Rain, Lilies, Luck. Her poems and essays have appeared in numerous journals including Water-Stone, Southern Humanities Review, Poetry East and A View from the Loft.
