The old-old-oldies set kicks off with a band normally known as the Church Street Five, who backed, among others, Gary US Bonds. They also recorded as Baby Earl and the Trini-Dads when dabbling in Ska, which they do here quite energetically! What follows is a lively mix of Jamaican and international first-generation ska.
In Hour 2, Sherwood gives us the Waters of Minnetonka according to Stanley Black, an 18th-century Penny Lane, spooky business that there wasn’t time for last week (and besides, there’s a Friday the 13th this month_ yaayyyy!), and two Shiina Ringo goodies. The 4-at-4 is all German Ska-Ska-Skandal bands that begin with the letter B, and we have our first movie action-hero Lollipopper in Steven Seagal, teaming up with Lt. Stitchie!
