KFAI is celebrating Pride Month with 24 hours of broadcast programming produced
and delivered by Twin Cities LGBTQIA+ and Two-Spirit community members on Thursday, June 22,
2023āstarting at midnight on 90.3FM in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul, and online at kfai [dot] org.
As the home of the nationās longest-running LGBTQ radio program, Fresh Fruit, KFAI has been
championing inclusion, visibility, and access for the LGBTQIA2S+ community in the media and beyond
since 1978. This year weāre giving gratitude to Fresh Fruitās founders and celebrating our shared (and
continued) effort to increase generational and cultural understanding and break down the bias caused by
misinformation.
At present, outspoken lawmakers are working around the clock to strip the LGBTQ community of their
constitutional rights to life, liberty, and happiness, principles that require access to safe and affordable
healthcare and housing, and equal employment opportunities.
At KFAI, we believe in the power of personal growth through storytelling, especially when hearing people
tell their stories. In doing so, we create the potential for growing oneās capacity for understanding and
acceptance.
