KFAI is Rocking Events All Summer
While the weather stays warm, we have a lot of great events cooking up here at the station, some of which could use your help.
August 28th and 29th – KFAI Live at the State Fair
KFAI is headed to the Minnesota State Fair to do two whole days of special programming live from the Education Building. Listen in from 8am-8pm on both of those days or stop by our booth for some KFAI goodies and good times.
August 30th – Last Days of Summer Blues Cruise
The Last Days of Summer Blues Cruise is a fundraising event developed and hosted by the KFAI Board of Directors. On Friday, August 30th, celebrate the end of summer with a beautiful trip down the Mississippi on the KFAI Blues Cruise aboard the Magnolia Blossom Riverboat, which departs from Watergate Marina, 2500 Crosby Farm Rd, St Paul, MN 55116.
Tickets and more information are available at https://kfai.org/cruise/.
Boarding begins at 7:00 pm, embarks promptly at 7:30 pm, and returns to shore at 9:30 pm. The night includes light, refreshing snacks and a cash bar, with entertainment from The Bambi Alexandra Band, hosted by Emcee Lady J Griot (Jacquie Maddix) of KFAI’s Songs of the Soul.
September 8th – KFAI at Imagine Cedarfest
Thereâs a block party in Cedar-Riverside and youâre invited! From 11am-5pm on Sunday, September 8, the streets of Cedar-Riverside will close to motor traffic and fill with artists, vendors, food trucks, and community organizations. KFAI will host a booth there with activities, music, and more! We are looking for a few volunteers to help the day go smoothly. Email [email protected] to sign up.Â
September 12-25 – Fall Member Drive
Itâs not too soon to be thinking about our fall member drive, coming up in just under a month. As usual, weâll need all hands on deck for those two weeks as we work to meet our fundraising goal. The biggest need is for people to answer phones during the day (youâre welcome to take an overnight phone shift, but it is not required). If you canât take the time to be in the pledge room for a phone shift, making a meal to share with the team is a great way to contribute.Â
