MinneCulture

MinneCulture programs are part of KFAI’s Legacy Project, which highlights Minnesota arts, culture, history and the environment. MinneCulture airs every Monday and Wednesday evening, from 7:30 to 8pm.

The Morning Blend

The Morning Blend combines the resources of the station’s news and music programmers to create a blend of information and entertainment designed to help you start your day. Interviews, reports and excerpts from other programs on the KFAI schedule are included. You never know exactly what’s in store when you’re listening between 6-8 a.m. weekdays; we’re making it up as we go.

Live From Studio 5!

Every week “Live From Studio Five!” airs live performances in our studios of local bands of all different genres. Occasionally we interview national artists such as Wanda Jackson, Kid Koala and Dale Watson. “Live From Studio 5!” is a group effort hosted by MJ Gilmore and Doug The Thug with lots of help from others.

Balkan Jamboree

Balkan Jamboree is a music show both for those who are familiar with the treasure of the Balkan music and for those for whom the Balkan music is terra incognita. You all will have the opportunity to find out more about it but most of all I aim to bring enjoyment to everyone who is listening.

Balkan Jamboree show is a cultural outlet to the numerous Balkan communities.

Jukebox Africa

Jukebox Africa features music, culture, and interviews of artists from Africa. The shows are broadcast in French and serve the African/French community around the world. Look for a new program every other Thursday.

Poquito y Bueno: A Short and Sweet Flamenco Show

KFAI is proud to present Poquito y Bueno, the first worldwide English-language flamenco webcast! This short and sweet half-hour program presents a panoply of flamenco music ranging from the first to the very latest recordings.

Kinda Cloudy Radio

Kinda Cloudy Radio is a weekly program exploring the world of soul music. Rather than focusing exclusively on the typical description of the genre “Soul”, host DJ Steely interprets the classification in his own terms, fusing Latin, Jazz, Reggae, Funk, Afrobeat & the Blues together into an unfolding experience of raw feeling expressed through song.

Encuentro

Every Thursday, from 8 to 10:00 in the evening, Encuentro takes you on a journey across Latin America with its folk and traditional music.
