The Morning Blend combines the resources of the station’s news and music programmers to create a blend of information and entertainment designed to help you start your day. Interviews, reports and excerpts from other programs on the KFAI schedule are included. You never know exactly what’s in store when you’re listening between 6-8 a.m. weekdays; we’re making it up as we go.
Every week “Live From Studio Five!” airs live performances in our studios of local bands of all different genres. Occasionally we interview national artists such as Wanda Jackson, Kid Koala and Dale Watson. “Live From Studio 5!” is a group effort hosted by MJ Gilmore and Doug The Thug with lots of help from others.

RSST as a weekly four-hour tour debuts this month! Starting and ending with traditional, 2-tone and modern ska and rocksteady, sandwiching an hour of space-age lounge, latin jazz, higher-AND-lower-than-fi exotica, moog-o-phonic-a-delia and more of all eras in the middle.
The program starts with a raga and then continues its sonic journey through contemporary jazz, free improvisation, new music, world music, underground, avant garde and art music from different corners of the globe, as well as interviews and live studio performances by local and visiting artists and the occasional musical restructuring*. An adventure in sound, a journey into the tone world.
Jacquie “Lady J” Maddix is a broadcast veteran with 24 years of experience in radio and television. Her background includes work as an on-air personality at KFAI Radio in Minneapolis, Minnesota as well as on-camera exposure at SPNN, a cable television company in St. Paul Minnesota. Ms.
