Hey Baby, it’s the 4th of July. Tea from L’Assassins stoped by the show in the first hour with a copy of their new, out of sequence yet very cool CD. In the second hour, Cadillac Kolstad and Johann Swenson came in shoving a piano down the hallway and hauling a drum kit under their arms. We invited them in for some music and fun. Lots of other recorded tunes plus, as always around the 4th of July, a couple versions of Dave Alvin’s “Fourth of July”; always by Dave and his bands…..accept no substitute. Click “episode details” to see the full playlist for the show. And, once there and if you’re really bored, you’ll be able to read along while the music is playing. Thanks to Angie for coming in and sharing the show with me. Have a great 4th and I’ll see you next week.

Eilen Jewell called in from someplace in Kansas; Molly Maher stopped in to join us; and, we dedicated the show to J.J. Cale who passed away this week. We played as much of his music as we were legally able to, plus played about a dozen cover versions of his songs. I indicated on the playlist which songs were covers of J.J.‘s music. And, we ran out of time before we could get to all we planned on airing. Thanks to Angie Pykonen for helping me with the show. If you’d like to see the entire playlist and listen to the archive, click “Episode Details”. You’ll bounce over to the playlist page. Thanks for listening.
