Angie hung out with me today. We threw the tunes out there for ya’ on this sunny, warm, “winter we hardly knew thee” kind of day.
Lots of newer releases today, including Ray Wylie Hubbard, Steve Kaul & The Brass Kings, Justin Townes Earle, The Union Suits, Pearl Handled Revolver, Bernie King & The Guilty Pleasures, Jimmy Burns Band, Lincoln Durham, L’Assassins, Microwave Dave & The Nukes, Bob Livingston, Kentucky Bridge Burners, Nathan James & The Rhythm Scratchers, Tail Dragger & Bob Corritore.
If you click “More”, you’ll be taken to the land of the Freewheelin’ playlist, where you’ll be able to listen to the show via the archive.
And remember boys & girls, where we live, we always CRANK UP THEVOLUME while listening to Freewheelin’.
PLEDGEDRIVESHOW: You may make a pledge via this website. If you weave around, you’ll find the link. Tell them (them who track this stuff) you heard about it on Freewheelin’. Yada Yada.
Angie Pykonen (of KFAI’s In Your Ear) and I were joined by a couple of guests this afternoon:
Ron Thums (formerly of the great, sorely missed, Friday night show “Radio Rumpus Room”), stopped in to participate in the hijinx and keep the show focused in the right direction, whatever that means.
Also, Tea Simpson of L’Assassins stopped by. Freewheelin’ is sponsoring the L’Assassins Record Release & Pajama Party, Saturday night at Lee’s. Reckless Ones, Violent Shifter & DJ Travis will also be perfoming.
Anyway, Tea is a cool lady and we were thrilled she could stop in. Unfortunately, with all the pledge drive hoopla, we couldn’t give her as much time as we would like. We did manage to chat a bit, play a couple of L’Assassins and Reckless Ones songs, and have a few giggles. Hopefully, she and her bandmates will be back on the show sometime soon.
Thanks to all of you who made a pledge to Freewheelin’. I love ya’.
