Tonight’s show is dedicated to the plucky Martian rover Spirit, and it’s cohort Opportunity. Spirit is mired in deep sand and will live out its life as a stationary reporting station. Both were parachuted to the Martian surface with an expected operational lifespan of three months. They have been rolling across the Martian surface and sending back scientific information to NASA for nearly six years. Here’s to these stupendous overachievers!
