Artist Barbara Redmond speaks tonight (Oct. 12, 2010) of her paintings of Paris. Her pen and ink paintings with watercolor offer beautiful views of Paris monuments. Chef Pierre Rabbia of the Cordon Bleu culinary school and restaurant speaks to us tonight. The origina Cordon Bleu began in Paris and has branches all over the world, including the school located in Mendota Heights. Pierre tells us of the over 700 students here who diligently work to attain their diploma as chefs, managers, purchasers-in all, to learn the skills to run a first-class restaurant.

A recent arrival, Abdelkader Hamouchi, speaks of his life in Morocco. A Berber by birth, he speaks of this separate ethnic group’s language and culture. The Berbers, or the Amidir (Free Men), as they call themselves, were in Morocco centuries before the Arabic-speaking colonizers arrived.
He is now in the USA looking for work and observing life here.
