The golden oldies start the program with great artists of the past: Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet and others. Brand-new music comes to us directly from Radio France Internationale. Belgian singer Maurane has a new album and we hear two songs from it, in a tribute to departed great, Claude Nougaro. Other contemporary artists include Kent and Marc Lavoine. Louise and Caryl have a great time chatting in French and English.
Tonight’s program focuses on Haiti. Guests include Jacqueline Regis, now an attourney in Minneapolis who was born and raised in Haiti and who escaped with her family during the Papa Doc Duvalier regime. She has recently written a book, The Daughter of the Arsenal. Joining her is Mike, an American who is about to leave for Haiti to work on an addition to a school, a gift from his company, Lifetouch Photography. Haitian musis is featured.
