Thanks to Eve MacLeish, of Corazon Latino (Tuesdays, Noon – 2pm), for sitting in while I was traveling. She played a great mix of artists, including Jimmy Smith, Duke Ellington, Monk Coltrane, Mingus. Raashaan Roland Kirk, Charles Mingus, and a tribute to Martin Luther King.

Today’s show featured new music from The DeFrancesco Brothers, The Cannonball-Coltrane Project, Joel Shapira, and the Marcus Shelby Orchestra, as well as classic tunes from Charled Mingus, Hank Mobley, Cal Tjader Stan Getz, and Cannonball Adderley. Finally, I played a live recording of the Afro-Peruvian sextet that I recorded in Lima.
