Today's show was dedicated to the guitar players of the blues, plus an interview with community radio VJ Trahern Crews from WFNU-FM@94.1, a low power radio station located in the Frogtown area of St. Paul, Minnesota. Look for the interview at 3:15pm on October 10, 2017.

I had two interviews today hence the short playlist. Pat McLaughlin, Charles Solberg and Tony Houle stopped by the studio to talk about VetFest coming up in 2018. They are hosting a fundraiser for this event at Wilebski's Blues Saloon on Sunday November 5, 2017 Noon to 6pm. Also, Debbie Duncan and her brother William Duncan stopped by to tell us about a gospel concert taking place this Sunday October 29th at Unity Minneapolis Church on Golden Valley Road. The concert is in support of William's CD release called "We Give Thanks".

In celebration of the three "Days of the Dead" this year: October 31st Halloween, November 1st All Saint's Day and November 2nd All Souls Day, I played music reflecting the indigenous and Voodoo tradition of calling to the spirit world for help or blessings during these three days. The Root-working high priest or priestess would gather at the gravesite of those that have passed over to light candles and drink wine to intice the Ancestors to come out and help their family members with serious and sometimes even desparate concerns.
