Thanks for all of the pledge support and the excellent pledge drive companionship from Ellen Stanley of Womenfolk this morning. We heard new music from Bill Staines, Tift Merritt and Amanda Palmer, as well as underappreciated classics such as The Trailer Park Troubadours—which we can keep hearing on the radio thanks to your support!
The morning started with Two Door Cinema Club and moved into new Hot Chip, Zoe Muth, The Helio Sequence, Antibalas….you get the picture. Check the playlist for more eclectic new artists and songs that we don’t want to forget. International DJ Paul Harding was also in the house bringing us new middle eastern sounds!
Had a blast talking with Joe Ely this morning as he came up through the Ozarks to play at the Cedar in Minneapolis. Did you know it was Joe who put the Spanish in "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" by The Clash? Fun stories and he has many many more to tell. Look for a new album out from Joe in 2013. We also heard new music from Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson, Bat for Lashes and Poncho Sanchez.
New music this morning from Andrew Bird, Kaki King and local group Jimmi & the Band of Souls. Some spooky music from Argentina, Madagascar, the Middle East by way of London, Milwaukee and Kirkwood Hollow mixed in!
