3/24/2008 CHAT Radio: Hmong Arts Culture

We had a slew of guests on-air tonight. In the first half of the show, we were joined by William Yang of Hmong National Development in Washington DC. William talked about the 13th Annual Hmong National Conference (HNC) taking place in Denver, CO on March 28-31, 2008. HNC is the only conference that focuses solely on issues that directly affect the Hmong community bringing together Hmong professionals and college students from all over the country for dialogue, strategies and networking. We were also joined by Huneth Lor, a gymnast on the University of Michigan's Gymnastics team. Huneth shares her very interesting story of being a gymnast since the age of 4, living with her coaches in Vegas at the age of 9 and becoming a Division One athlete with a full scholarship! In the spirit of National Women's History month, we were honored to have Talee Vang (yes, the same Talee Vang from Hmong Today Headlines) read her poem, A Woman is a woman in closing.
