10/27/2013 Sound Affects: A Radio Playground

The final three entries from the War of the Worlds 75th Anniversary audio contest, sponsored by the Convergence science fiction convention.

War of the Cotswolds - Action Science Theatre sends this entry by Dan Bond, Dan Booth and Brian Macken.  What if aliens landed in your school's playing fields, and your budgets had been cut?  The science teachers take the field to stand between mankind and total destruction.

The Jester's Slippers - An epic medieval fantasy from Yap Audio Productions. Two heroic warriors step forward to lead the struggle against the alien tripods that have come by shooting stars.  Written by Matthew McLean.

Dead London - This took first place in the audio contest.  Wireless Theatre Productions sticks closer to the original H. G. Wells story and actually recorded on location in Horsell Common and other places mentioned in the original story. Written by Gareth Parker and Robert Valentine.
