Dr. Naoshoua Lor says OTC or over the counter drugs are medicines that you can purchase without a prescription.  The government, FDA determines which one is safely use by the general public with less side effects.  Medical Insurance may pay for OTC if prescribed by the doctor.  Prescription drugs are medicines that required doctor to prescribe for you.  They are the medications that required close monitor by the prescriber.  Narcotic drugs are medicines that has morphine and opium or other addiction elements in it which required controll and monitoring of the quantities of inventory by the pharmacy and the doctor.  Listen to the program for more in depth.
