2/4/2013 Pam Without Boundaries

We enjoyed a visit from Brian Laidlaw this morning to talk about his new ep with The Family Trade, "Whiskey with Goliath." Shoot--he told us there's a story behind the name but we ran out of time to hear it! We talked about his love of words, his ode to a friend who drops malapropisms, and his upcoming very-cool-sounding project merging his love of Dylan with the industrial and cultural history of Hibbing (funded in part by a MN State Arts Board grant). Brian will give a preview of songs from that project at the Aster Cafe Thursday, February 7th. He'll be joined on the bill by Lydia Hoglund of Bomba de Luz, both doing acoustic sets. We also heard from Bjork's new remix collection, "Bastards," and Cody ChesnuTT in advance of his show at the Triple Rock this week.
