Scott Breyfogle, Mitch Marks, Quatrefoil Library
The Quatrefoil Library, one of the oldest GLBT lending libraries in the country, is moving to the new Spirit On Lake building located at S. 13th Ave and East Lake Street in Minneapolis. Spirit On Lake is an LGBT senior affordable apartment house scheduled to open in 2013. It is the brainchild of Barbara Satin, a 78 year old transwoman and member of Spirit of the Lakes United Church of Christ, whose members helped initiate the project. Spirit On Lake is the first of its kind for LGBT seniors in the upper Midwest and will have 46 one and two-bedroom apartments. The project is a collaboration between the non-profit developer PRG Inc and Everwood Construction with continued involvement by members of Spirit of the Lakes Church.

Out There 25: Reality/Identity/Myth
Over the past 25 years, Out There has brought startling, vital, provocative, and often joyous new forms of theatrical expression to the Twin Cities. Beginning as a modest two-weekend series held during the depths of Minnesota’s winter at the Southern Theater, Out There grew into a full-fledged monthlong festival featuring new global performances, workshops, dialogue sessions, salons, and other activities. In 2013, audiences will see how theatrical artists today are interrogating the form of theater itself, blurring lines between reality and theatrical fiction, exploring the creation and transformation of identity, and reimagining the mythic.

Face Off HIV is a project intended to bring the rich and diverse stories of Minnesotans living with HIV and AIDS to a living document beginning with a coffee table book, and then use multimedia and the Internet to communicate these stories. By doing so, it will demonstrate that HIV is preventable and that those living with HIV or AIDS are everyday folk. This is ultimately a project to educate and support people living with or affected by HIV. A percentage of all proceeds will go to benefit the Aliveness Project in Minneapolis.
