Please join Laura Waterman Wittstock on Wednesday, September 26th at 9 am Central as she talks with Maria Krisch a health educator at the Indian Health Board of Minneapolis (IHB.) Maria is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). She worked to start the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Program. In addition to this, Maria has also taken on the role of Smoking Cessation counselor at IHB, and works to recruit patients into the clinic for smoking cessation. She has been trained by the Mayo Clinic to be a Tobacco Treatment Specialist, and currently holds her provisional certification. She also works with the Diabetes Prevention Program to help with retention and physical activity.
The Indian Health Board is presenting a Native American Day Celebration this Saturday, September 29th in Minneapolis.
