08/21/2012 Beryl and Charles share the reading of "Emma Zunz" by Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986), Argentinian writer best known for his use of magical realism in his short stories. The responses to the publication of this story were many and varied - some relating to Borges' rare use of a female protagonist, others relating to the idea of divine justice as described by Emma Zunz, both psychoanalytically and legally and still others relating to Borges' use of and relationship with Jews.
