We chat with John Coates, author of The Hour between Dog and Wolf: Risk Taking, Gut Feelings, and the Biology of Boom and BustKirkus Reviews describes it as "an in-depth look at how financial risk-taking is linked to human biology, especially to the testosterone levels of young male traders, and the implications of this phenomenon for financial markets and the wider economy." If you want to understand how we think, this book goes a long way toward explaining it.

We also speak with Katherine Stewart about her book The Good News Club: The Christian Right's Stealth Assault on America's Children.  Katherine Stewart is a journalist who has written for The New York Times, The Guardian, and the Daily Beast, among others.  Her newest book was inspired in 2009, when the Good News Club came to the public elementary school where she sent her children. Sponsored by the Child Evangelism Fellowship, the Club bills itself as after-school Bible study, but its real mission is to convert children to fundamentalist Christianity.  More information is available at thegoodnewsclub.com.
