We speak with Karen Thompson Walker, author of The Age of Miracles, who graduated from the Columbia MFA program. She is a recvipient of the 2011 Sirenland Fellowship and is a former editor at Simon and Schuster. Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews and Library Journal all gave The Age of Miracles starred reviews. The novel depicts what might happen should the Earth's rotation begin to slow.
In the second half of the show, we chat with Jeffrey Morris, author of the graphic novel Venus: Daedalus One. He is a Minneapolis-based writer, film director and production designer who created a space science curriculum that won an award from the National Science Teachers Association, and he also helped NASA develop Hollywood-style storytelling and visuals for the Outer Planets Program.
