We speak with Katrina Vandenberg about her new poetry collection The Alphabet Not Unlike the World. She is the author of Atlas and co-author of the chapbook, On Marriage. Her poetry and nonfiction have appeared in The Southern Review, The American Scholar, Orion, Post Road, Poets and Writers, and other magazines. She has received fellowships from the McKnight, Bush, and Fulbright Foundations; been a Tennessee Williams Scholar at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference; and held residencies at the Amy Clampitt House, the Poetry Center of Chicago, and the MacDowell Colony.  

In the second half of the show, we chat with Patti Frazee, whose newest novel is called Out of Harmony, a story in Nebraska about a literal skeleton from the past.  Patti Frazee's first novel, Cirkus, was published in 2006 and was nominated for a Minnesota Book Award. Her short stories have appeared in Water-Stone Literary Journal, and in Open to Interpretation: The Water's Edge.
