Teen Whisperer*
*Mike Lindeman*
Mike Linderman is a teen therapist unlike any other. A real-life cowboy, he wakes up at the crack of dawn, works the cattle on his ranch, and then counsels some of the country's most troubled teens, approaching them with a unique blend of down-home honesty, straight-talk discipline, and pure intention that is rarely found in a therapist's office. Most of the teens Mike treats are angry, abused, violent, and dangerous—they are children without hope. Yet despite their difficult pasts, he has achieved extraordinary success with them, helping to turn their lives around and earning him the nickname the Teen Whisperer.
*Healthy Living Spaces: Top 10 Hazards Affecting Your Health* *Daniel Stih*
The teepee is much better to live in; always clean, warm in winter, cool in summer, easy to move. The white man builds big house, cost much money, like big cage, shut sun out, can never move; always sick... Indians and animals know better how to live... Nobody can be in good health if he does not have all the time fresh air, sunshine and good water...
- *Chief Flying Hawk, Ogalala Sioux, nephew of Sitting Bull*
We tend to think of our homes as safe havens, places that protect and nurture us. We may not like going to the office, but we typically do not think of the office as toxic. Unfortunately, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that pollution indoors can be six to ten times higher than outside and is responsible for serious health effects. Because we spend 90% of our time indoors, we are potentially exposed to 90% of the factors that cause illness while we are indoors. The indoors is widely recognized as one of the most serious risks to human health.
You don't have to live in an unhealthy home or office. This book provides you with a roadmap to identifying the worst offenders and correcting them. In today's world it seems everything is thought to cause cancer or be bad for your health. But most homes and offices typically have only a few environmental factors that are responsible for the bulk of potential harm.
