The Mother of All Enemies uses an ancient shadow puppet tradition to skewer the 21st
century. His hero Karagoz is a queer, humanist/Buddhist, Arab-immigrant artist
political refugee who is pursued by --and somehow eludes -- the CIA, Christian Ex-Gay movement, Al Qaeda, Israeli and Syrian spies, and even Minutemen vigilantes.
