New music included a couple of tracks from the new tribute "Rave On Buddy Holly". We heard a Justin Townes Earle covering "Maybe Baby" and Paul McCartney's take on "It's So Easy".
Other new music: The Sweetback Sisters, George Thorogood & The Delaware Destroyers, David Bromberg with Levon Helm, Grayson Capps, plus something from the new tribute to The Doors by James Lee Stanley and Cliff Eberhardt entitled "all wood and doors", (all lower case thank you). Paul Barrere (of Little Feat fame), Timothy B. Schmidt and many other talented musicians helped out, including both John Densmore and Robby Krieger of the Doors.

Fuck Knights were our fabulous guests today. Lots of chuckles, chat, and kick ass rock and roll. I think we achieved the desired level of distortion during their set. If not, we'll hopefully have another chance to do so someday.

We also played a short musical tribute to Joel Johnson, who would have been celebrating a birthday today. Joel was extremely helpful in getting me in the door at KFAI, a long, long, time ago. He helped me get on-air, asked me to emcee shows with and for him, and was a great friend…. not only to me, but to all in the community. Joel Johnson was ambassador for KFAI and the blues.

Think you may want to listen to the show? Click your preferred player "mp3" or "real audio" to be magically transported to the music. There were some technical difficulties with the mp3 stream last week; hopefully that's been remedied.
