3/16/2011 Echo Chamber

This week we covered a lot of bases in the Echo Chamber: sending our heart out to Japan with music by a number of Japanese artists; getting to some women artists we missed last week; and just playing the newest stuff. Also, we debuted a new segment called "Roots of Dub", where we go back in the roots & dub archive for a full set. New music this week from: Bandulu Dub (on Dan Dada), GadManDubs (from dubark.com), Tsunami Wazahari (from the "High Ivory" compilation on ODG/KingDub), The Dub Machinist & I-Tist (from the ODG "Dub Wars" compilation), and LyriKill (from an upcoming Springline release). Also tonight we debuted the new "The Return of Sound System Scratch" archive release from Pressure Sounds. The Japanese artists included: Likkle Mai, Mantis, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Shiina Ringo, Akira Ifukube, Masaru Sato, The Peanuts, The Nippon Dub Ensemble (with Jah Wobble), Keyco, Jun Togawa, and Yellow Magic Orchestra.
