Guest Mary Dibbern of the Minnesota Opera is guest on Bonjour Minnesota. She explains the true story which was the source of the book La Dame aux Camelias written by Alexandre Dumas, fils(jr.). The story was turned into the beautiful opera, La Traviata, by Giuseppe Verdi. The Minnesota Opera just began the performances of the tragic love story of Violetta and Alfredo.

The composer and the lyrics of La Traviata are both in Italian, but the true story happenen in France and was the basis of the opera and of Moulin Rouge
