6/19/2007 Dig Up The Roots
Compilation records, sampler CDs, mix-tapes. These all hold the promise of the unknown. When i first started collecting records I would seek out compilations - often buying the recording for one or two songs that I knew of, but really looking forward to the unknown.
Todays show represents a small varied sampling of this collection. We heard early blues on Yazoo, jazzy drug songs from Stash, arcane Americana from The Library of Congress and fine examples of mid century jazz from Columbia.
