2/1/2010 Freewheelin'

CURTISS A was my special guest this morning. He brought in a big 'ol bag (of music) and we had a blast.

KFAI DJ and rock queen ANGIE PYKONEN sat in with us and kept things flowing along and added to the hijinx. Check out her rockin' show IN YOUR EAR every Wednesday night/Thursday morning at midnight.

I'll be joining her this week as we devote the entire program to rock & roll records (45's !!) by local artists (including some by Curtiss A).

MATTERSON & RICH RUE of Nikki & The Ruemates also stopped by and performed a couple of Buddy Holly songs that they'll be playing Wednesday night at the Buddy Holly Tribute at the Junction.

Curtiss A will be the first guest at my new monthly music series "FREEWHEELIN' FIRST FRIDAYS" at the 331 Club in northeast Minneapolis. We kick the series off this Friday, February 5th. Curtiss and his band the Jerks of Fate will be playing all night. I hope you can stop by for a fun night.
