Thomas Maltman joins us in the studio to talk about his book The Night Birds, a historical novel set in Minnesota before and after the Dakota Conflict. It is the winner of several awards and was a Booksense/Midwest Connections Book Pick.

  • Tune in to Radio Rumpus Room this Friday, December 19 as we host — for the first time anywhere — two folks with more firsthand knowledge of the legendary Twin Cities band the Trashmen than anyone short of the four flappin’ birdmen themselves.

    We’ll be hosting Mike Jann, lifelong friend, coordinator and archivist of the band, who also taped many of their live performances.
