Thanks to all those who attended Taste of KFAI on Saturday, June 18 at the Ukrainian Event Center. The extremely successful inaugural event was well received by many people new to KFAI as well as current listeners and volunteers. The rainy day did not keep people from exploring the varied cultures, food and vendors representative of our station.

This is really a GREAT compilation of cuts from NINETEEN, count ‘em, 19 bands that have played on Live From Studio 5!. We wish we had space to put them ALL on. Includes The Goondas, The Reckless Ones, Phantom Tails, Bella Ruse, Barry Thomas Goldberg, The Vibro Champs, Al’s Rockabilly Quartet, Big Surf, Curtiss A just to name a few. You can have this gem just by pledging on $50 to KFAI.

On March 8th, KFAI celebrated the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day with 24 hours of programming beginning at midnight: Ladies Who Make Us Laugh, women soldiers talk about Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, incarcerated pregnant women, Asian women building their communities and tons of great music!

KFAI’s celebration of Black History Month begins this Friday, February 25, 2011 at 5:00 a.m. and continues through midnight.

As the historic events in Egypt continue to unfold, KFAI, in partnership with Democracy Now!:http/ will bring you continuing coverage from the region. Tune in Friday, February 11th for a special two-hour broadcast of Democracy Now! from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m, right after the regular 8 a.m.

KFAI is inviting all community members – listeners, volunteers, underwriters, sponsors and other stakeholders – to attend its Annual Meeting on Friday, December 10, 2010, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Open Book:, 1011 Washington Avenue.

KFAI, Fresh Air Radio provides access to community members to actively participate in the creation of media.

Thank you for supporting KFAI Community Radio! You helped KFAI raise over $65,500 for the fall pledge drive. More than 220 volunteers joined over 935 community members to bring in support of independent, diverse, adventurous information and sounds on your radio dial!

We ended our fall drive at midnight October 8th, two-thirds of the way to our goal.

KFAI is seeking listeners and volunteers to join the 2011-12 KFAI Board of Directors. Listener member applications are due on Friday, October 8, 2010 and volunteer member applications on Friday, November 12, 2010. For more information, click Here:
