This is an election year for all members of the Minnesota House of Representatives. The primary is coming up on August 9th, and in District 59A there are two Democrats in the contest. Joe Mullery is the incumbent in the district, having held the seat since 1996. KFAI has offered Rep. Mullery an opportunity to talk about his candidacy. We hope to bring you a conversation with him in the coming days. Mullery's challenger this year is Fue Lee. Lee’s family came to the United States from Laos when he was one year old. He’s a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Carleton College who has helped start a political outreach group called the Asian American Organizing Project to promote political engagement . Lee talked with KFAI’s Satta Kendor, who asked him to describe the boundaries of district 59A.
