KFAI Welcomes New Marketing & PR Intern, Seth Hynes-Marquette

KFAI would like to welcome its newest marketing and PR intern, Seth Hynes-Marquette! He is currently a Junior studying Percussion Performance and Music Business at McNally Smith College of Music.

Seth was born and raised in Le Sueur, Minnesota, where he attended Le Sueur-Henderson High School. While there, he participated in football, wrestling, track and field, fall musicals, jazz band, and the singing quartet “Four On The Floor”, before graduating in 2012. Seth began writing creatively at age 8, creating comedic short stories for his friends and family. Later, he would begin writing more original short stories and screenplay ideas, as well as developing an interest in journalism. At age 14, Seth began playing the drums, and, shortly after, he utilized these interests towards building his future.

Throughout the rest of high school, Seth began playing in and co-managing a handful of cover and original bands, as well as handling their promotions and marketing. This would later influence his decision to attend McNally Smith for post-secondary education.

Seth currently performs with and co-manages local indie-folk band Lavender Daughter and Mankato-based Nirvana tribute band Near-Vana, as well as assisting in creating their bios, press releases, social media content, community outreach campaigns, and show reviews. He plans to graduate from McNally Smith with an Associate’s Degree in Music Business at the end of this year, before attending the University of Minnesota for English.

While with KFAI, Seth will assist in the promotion of station and city-wide events, community outreach, and social media engagement, as well as learn more about marketing and public relations techniques. He will also be working directly with Lennie Chism and his early-morning Saturday broadcast, The Lennie Chism Show. He has also recently created an Instagram page for KFAI, under the username kfaifmradio.
