Inauguration Ceremony Addresses Equity Agenda

An inauguration ceremony at Minneapolis City Hall brought in seven new city council members and a new mayor.   Much of the ceremony had to do with Mayor Betsy Hodges’ “One Minneapolis” initiative aimed at reducing the education and opportunity gaps that divide the city.
KFAI’s Janis Lane-Ewart attended the ceremony and brought back a collection of voices, including Mayor Hodges,  Hodges’ husband and Metropolitan Council member Gary Cunningham, Rabbi Michael Adam Latz who delivered the Invocation, former Minneapolis city council member Don Samuels, new council member Jacob Frey, sitting city council member Elizabeth Glidden, and beginning with poet Andrea Jenkins.
