Name Protest Planned at Metrodome

The owner of the Washington Redskins can expect a chilly reception when he arrives at the Metrodome for tonight's game against the Vikings. Elected city and state officials, along with local journalists, have publicly urged owner Dan Synder to change the team name and mascot. At a pre-game rally organized by the American Indian Movement, U.S. Representative Betty McCollum will join Olympian Billy Mills to protest the use of racial slurs in a public sports facility. KFAI Reporter Susan Gray spoke to Dave Zirin, sports columnist at The Nation, to learn why the calls for change are growing louder.
