Columbia Heights Police Win International Award

Each year the International Association of Chiefs of Police recognizes the best practices of law enforcement agencies around the world by bestowing the Community Policing Award . Last year, the award for communities under twenty thousand went to Columbia Heights Minnesota, where crime rates have dropped to a 20 year low.

Captain Lenny Austin and Police Officer Terry Nightingale talked to  Siobhan Kierans about this prestigious honor on the Morning Blend. They also discussed National Night Out. She started the interview by asking about the Community Policing award.
