Cupcakes for Moose

February 8, 2013
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced this week that it will not offer a moose hunting season this fall or consider future seasons until the moose population recovers. The Duluth News Tribune reports that the state’s moose population has declined 35 percent in the last year, and the decision to cancel the hunt signals the DNR’s alarm over one of Minnesota’s iconic wildlife species.
Robin Johnson is a Minneapolis cupcake shop owner who has taken personal action, establishing a non profit organization called Save Minnesota Moose.
This weekend, she's raising money at her store, Sweet Retreat. She talked with KFAI’s Stacie Robinson.
