Cobe Williams Inspires MLK Celebration

January 25, 2013
It is safe to say that gun violence in Chicago is completely out of control. Five hundred and twelve people were killed last year in the city, one hundred more than in the city of New York which has a much larger population. The number of people killed with guns in Chicago last year is more than the number of American troops that died in Afghanistan over the same time but some residents are fighting for a solution to end this violence
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Cobe Williams, violence interrupter for Cease Fire Chicago and subject of the award winning documentary The Interrupters, visited Minnesota to be the keynote speaker at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. park and to talk with KFAI's Yvette Howie about the direction he felt we were headed in this struggle
