Marian Wright Edelman at MLK Breakfast

The 23rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday breakfast was held Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.  Thousands turned out for this major event, supported by the General Mills Foundation with the United Negro College Fund.  KFAI’s Christina Cerruti attended and brought back this recording of the keynote speaker, Marian Wright Edelman – founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund.  The topic of her speech was “Education – The Fierce Urgency of Now.”
