
Wind Tax Credit Continues

The deal cut in Washington to avoid middle class tax increases also extends some tax credits that encourage the development of wind power. This was one of the issues on the table in the so-called “fiscal cliff” standoff. The new law will preserve tax credits for wind power projects that start construction in 2013.
Aaron Peterson is a former three term Minnesota state legislator, serving house district 20 A in West Central Minnesota. He authored Minnesota’s Renewable Electricity Standard, and he’s currently a consultant for the German firm, Jewi Wind. He appeared on The Morning Blend and told KFAI's Dale Connelly why continuing the tax credit is important for the wind industry in Minnesota.
